COVID – 19 – OFFICE PROCEDURES
To our valued clients,
We know its a challenging time right now but we wanted to let our clients know that we are available. We will be able to answer calls and emails to provide answers to questions that may arise. Your health and safety, and that of our team members is important to us.
In order to minimize any direct personal contact considering the COVID-19 pandemic, we are implementing the following drop off / pick-up procedures relating to corporate year ends and/or personal tax.
For drop off – If at all possible we are suggesting that all documents/files be scanned/emailed and/or uploaded to our secure individualized portals. We can setup as many portals as you require (i.e. one for each family member) or we can setup a single portal in which all family members can access through their own individual email. If you are unable to gain access to the portal/email, we are suggesting that documents be placed in an envelope and placed in a drop box available in the front foyer. Our main entrance will unlocked but the inner door will be locked. Alternatively you can mail through Canada Post but we suggest using a method that allows you to track the envelope.
For pick up – We will call you to discuss the best and most efficient way for you to sign the documents once completed. We have many alternatives available and will do what works best for you and adheres to best practices amidst the COVDI-19 pandemic.
For payment of services rendered, we will accept an e- transfer for those of you set up on online banking, a cheque mailed to the office or alternatively you can call in with your credit card information.
Our goal is to complete your personal income tax returns before the original April 30th filing deadline. We are currently staffed to fulfill this goal. You can still take advantage of the government announcement to defer the payment of taxes that become due after March 17th under Part 1 until after August 31, 2020 without interest or penalty but this way any credits ( GST, CTB etc) or supplements that you might be entitled to will continue uninterrupted. We strongly encourage you to get your information in as soon as possible to help protect against any unforeseen circumstances or complete shut downs.
